On behalf of GBOTS staffs, I am very pleased to inform you about our second GBOTS conference. Similar to our first conference which was held two years ago, the goal of our conference is to promote interactions among Thai researchers within (but not limited to) the greater Boston area. We would like to invite all Thai scientists, researchers, clinicians to participate in this exciting event. If you are conducting research in any area (engineering, science, medicine or social science), we would like to invite you to present your work during the conference in the format of poster presentation. If you are undergraduate students, medical students, practicing doctors or first-year graduate students, you are also invited to participate in this conference, learning about and giving comments to your Thai fellows. This conference is a great opportunity for us all to get to know your future Thai collaborators. We hope that the conference will help strengthen our Thai community and encourage interdisciplinary collaborations among Thai researchers.
The conference is scheduled to be held on Saturday October 10th, 2009 from 1-6pm at MIT student center, so please put it in your calendar now. To participate in this event, we ask that you visit our website ( https://sites.google.com/site/gbotsannualconference/). Poster presenters are required to submit an abstract at our website before September 27th, 2009. All participants (including poster presenters) need to register for this conference before October 8th, 2009. The website has all information that you may require to know about this event. Please help us tell your Thai peers about this conference. Last two years, we had more than 60 presenters and we hope to see even more this year.

This event is one of the very special occasions organized by the initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Mahidol, an MIT graduate herself, to share perspectives on human development between the Thai ministry of human and social development and various faculty and student groups at MIT. Her Royal Highness herself will be attending this symposium as part of her private visit to MIT. During the symposium, you will have opportunities to listen to talks by internationally-renowned professors such as Sally Susnowitz, Walter Bender and Mitchel Resnick. There will also be exhibitions on various projects to support human quality of life.
